Modified Flutter Kick
SKILL VALUE
The modified flutter kick is a gentler, more contained version of the standard flutter kick. This technique uses shorter leg movements, which are perfect for maintaining propulsion in delicate environments like coral reefs or silty areas where minimizing disturbance is key. The kick is especially helpful on stron currents, if you really have to swim against it.
Usefull at:
Currents where you have to swim against it with a continous propulsion.
Moving continously while filming or observing marine life.
Silty or delicate environments where minimal water disturbance is key.
Maintaining trim and position in low-visibility or confined dives.
Learn How to
Keep leg movements small and controlled, using just the ankles and lower legs.
Practice keeping your knees bent for compact kicks that minimize disturbance.
Combine the kick with effective buoyancy control to maintain position.
Combine the top and the bottom of your fins for the kick and the forward movement.
